The sixth is one of the most picturesque holes in cumbria. A short par 4, which dog legs right through 90 degrees. The ideal tee shot should be 180-200 yards down the middle of the fairway. Anything short of this, leaves no shot to the green, but go too far and you will be fishing your ball from the river Rawthay.
From the middle of the fairway, the beauty of the hole becomes apparent. The river runs down the left side of the fairway and there is out-of-bounds behind. Furthermore, a pond sits tight to the back right corner of the green (making a very interesting pin position, just a few feet from the water), which flows into a stream snaking round the front of the green. Luckily you should only have a short pitch into the green.
