The 1st at Sedbergh Golf Club is a gentle opening hole, a par 4 measuring 285 yards which doglegs around the old Roman Fort. It is in range off the tee, although the line requires you to flirt with the Oak tree on top of the fort and the green is well protected by 5 bunkers. The river Dee lurks just a few yards behind the green catching anything long.
The 10th tee is pushed round the corner, making the dogleg more severe and the tee shot more difficult as the best line is over the Out-Of-Bounds.
